Leadership Experience That Matters in a Changing Profession

Research consistently shows that leaders who succeed in periods of rapid change develop their skills through real-world governance, collaboration, and decision-making—not in isolation. Studies from organizations such as McKinsey and Harvard Business Review have found that adaptability, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration are among the most critical capabilities for leaders navigating complex, evolving environments.

Those skills are built by stepping into roles where perspectives differ, tradeoffs are real, and decisions have lasting impact.

That’s exactly what service with the National Association of Physician Recruiters (NAPR) offers.

Call for Nominations: 2026–27 NAPR Board of Directors

NAPR is seeking engaged, forward-thinking members to serve on the 2026–27 Board of Directors. Board service offers a meaningful opportunity to help guide the association—and the physician recruitment profession—through an evolving landscape shaped by workforce challenges, technology, and changing expectations.

Board service provides hands-on experience in:

  • Leading through industry change and uncertainty

  • Thinking strategically beyond individual firms, searches, or short-term priorities

  • Collaborating with peers across specialties, markets, and firm sizes

  • Making informed decisions that balance member needs, mission, and long-term sustainability

Board members play a direct role in shaping NAPR’s priorities, programs, and future direction—while strengthening leadership skills that translate back to their own organizations and teams. Apply or nominate a colleague by January 31, 2026.

Not Ready for Board Service? Committee Opportunities Are a Great Place to Start.

Not every leadership journey begins with Board service—and that’s by design.

NAPR committees provide meaningful ways to contribute at every engagement and experience level, while building the same leadership capabilities that research shows are essential for navigating change:

  • Working collaboratively with peers across the profession

  • Tackling real issues facing physician recruitment today

  • Gaining broader perspective on the association and its members

Committee service is an excellent on-ramp for members who want to get involved, expand their network, and make an impact—without the time commitment of Board service. To express interest in committee service, email NAPR HQ at [email protected].
